Family of Davenport fatal-crash victim remembers: He was an amazing guy
He was the solid one the reliable one, the one who loved everyone and gave everyone a fist-bump when he saw them at the Machine Shed, Davenport,
Now, after a tragic fatal crash, the family of Gage Williams, 27, mourns the young man who, five years ago, survived a crash that changed his life..

Williams’ aunt, Karen Grunder, who worked with him at the restaurant; his stepmother, Stacy Williams; and his father, Cecil Williams, are devastated by his loss.
“He was an amazing person. Everybody that knew him loved him,” his father said. “And now because of a stupid crosswalk, he’s dead. It’s not fair.”
Gage Williams survived a horrific crash back in 2019 when a van pulled into his path while he was on his motorcycle. Gage, who was in a coma for some time, was unable to drive a car because of his injuries, and got around on a bicycle.

In spite of his challenges, he lived his life the best he could: He had a routine, went to work, and always let his dad know where he was.
He was the kind of guy, his dad says, who would mow your lawn for free.
Gage leaves behind several siblings and, his parents say, two cats he absolutely loved. They now seek a home for the cats. But before that, they will make preparations for a celebration of life memorial.
