Most of my star encounters have been while living in L.A., Nashville, or New York. However, one of the biggest surprises I’ve ever had was while I was still living in Jackson.

During the late 1960s and early 1970s, there was a wonderful four-day event every spring in Jackson called the Mississippi Arts Festival. The fairgrounds were full of art exhibits, theater productions and makeshift coffee houses with performers from around the state. Everything about the festival was grand and very well organized.
