EBK registration for graduate engineers in Kenya

Publish date: 2024-04-13

Engineering is ranked among the most respectable careers globally. It is also a popular career choice among the youth in Kenya. For you to become an engineer, you should undertake an engineering course in a certified institution of higher learning. After completion of your studies, you will need to be registered with an engineering body. This allows you to be recognized as an engineer and allowed to undertake duties in the field. Every engineering graduate in Kenya is required to undertake EBK registration.

The abbreviations "EBK" stand for the Engineers Board of Kenya. This body was created through the Engineers Act 2011 and awarded the mandate to oversee and regulate the engineering career in Kenya. Every engineer, whether a Kenyan citizen or foreigner is required by law to be registered with the Engineers Board of Kenya. After receiving the board’s approval, the engineer is then given permission to practice his or her trade in the country.
